finding the light

Well......... The end of the year brought some trying and contemplative times. Firstly and more importantly, we lost a dear love as he passed on his journey to the next step. My dearest William left this world to no longer suffer with the hurdle of cancer. He reminded me of the movie "Meet the Robinson's". A beautiful soul with a hugely creative mind and finally finding his family and dearest love. Unfortunately for us we moved down to Ecuador and only could visit when we returned to Canada. When we did reunite is was like coming home and having grounding in reality, reminding ourselves what is important in life. Life is like that sometimes, you get wonderful experiences for short times to inspire you onward. I have to say, he gave me hope and a bond that will keep me moving forward. His passing, I celebrate as I know he will be waiting for us on the otherside and clearing our path as my family will make their transitions in their own correct time.
Rachelle also experienced sexual harrassement for the first time, and surprisingly in the machismo culture the harrass-er was dismissed from his job and Rachelle was supported. We as her parents we also asked to come and support our daughter for this meeting. What was interesting was that the hotel is owned by English speaking people and they were wanting to be an example of equal rights for women in Ecuador. Living here is like living 50 years ago in Canada for women's rights. It is a very interesting time to be here for that reason.
Rachelle now has a new boyfriend and he is "Indigenous mountain person". Her ex-boyfriend is costeno, from the coast of Ecuador, he is critically upset with her as he was rejected in place of a lower (in his mind) class of human an indigenous person. He is actually more upset that he was replaced with an indigenous person than them not being together. This is the same fellow who said that Ecuador is so multicultural and racially tolerant...... yeah right.
Right now it is quite cold here in Ecuador, although it is 20 degrees it is cold, however when the sun comes out it becomes HOT even though it is the same 20 degrees. Rob and I are exercising in the mountains almost everyday using the dogs as an excuse to exercise them. We are both getting in shape and are getting close to running more in the mountains. What is shocking about the walk is that it never gets any easier, the mountain is steep and you just go up the mountain faster but I found that I still sweat as much and that it never seems easier. We are also back to eating better and eating more raw. We have also started oil-pulling, drinking apple cider vinegar and I take dragons blood for menopause. Overall we are both feeling better.
Okay, I am going to share a weird thing about Ecuador. The locals feel that consuming the brains of a guinea pig is an aphrodisiac ( ewwwwww, way yuck). A friend of a friend of ours consumed on and found out the truth to this. He was at a public theater with friends and had to contend with a fierce erection for 4 hours after consuming said guinea pig brain. Rob happily told me, although he loved me, there would be no brain consuming whatsoever. We all took a vote and felt that it it was ever necessary, the little blue pill would be fine thank you.
Well enough said for now.
